Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with Freese & Nichols, Inc. for the addition of a 2nd Electric Utility Feed to the Reuse Facility Project.

Body

The Reuse Water Facility, located at the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater System's East plant. This facility that can generate up to 6 million gallons of reuse water per day is being upgraded. The reuse water demand has steadily increased each year and the peak day in 2022 was approximately 4 million gallons of water. To accommodate current demand and future growth, the system is being upgraded with a true dual feed electric power to ensure the facility's reliability much like what we installed at the East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant with the expansion project.

Additionally, a fourth high service pump rated for 3 million gallons per day will be added along with the associated necessary pump controls. This will increase the firm pumping capacity  of the reuse water system from 6 to 9 million gallons per day capacity. A third transfer pump is also a part of this project which will increase the ability to move filtered water into the ground storage tank. Freese & Nichols, Inc. will provide the design and construction engineering services to do all of this work.
