Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with KOM Productions, LLC dba KOM Trails for the Behrens Ranch Mountain Bike Project 2025.

This item will authorize the Mayor to execute an Agreement with KOM Trails for the construction of of mountain bike trails and a pump track at Behrens Ranch Park. In 2020, PARD solicited public input through a series of Open Houses and an online survey. This two-step process resulted in 3,115 individuals viewing the project information and 682 people participating in the survey. Through this process, 90% of respondents identified trails as a preferred amenity, with mountain bike / nature trails high on the list of priorities. After consulting with one of the premier mountain bike design firms, a trails master plan was developed for this park. In 2022, the preliminary master plan was presented to the public and key stakeholders for input before being finalized. Since then, the project has been permitted with WCID and TCEQ. KOM Trails is construction is a local firm that specializes in natural surface trails, BMX/Mountain Bike trails and tracks, and various other outdoor amenities and they are more than qualified to complete this project satisfactorily.
