A total of four (4) sealed bids were received and opened on July 28, 2020 for the Kenney Fort Boulevard Overlay project. The bids ranged from $369,925.50 to $483,844.75. Lone Star Paving from Austin, Texas, submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $369,925.50. The engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for this project was $488,000. Lone Star Paving successfully completed similar projects for the City within the last five years and has proven they are capable of performing the work.
After reviewing the contractor’s experience and bid price, the Transportation Director recommends award of this project to Lone Star Paving in the amount of $369,925.50.
