Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Agreement No. 2 to "City of Round Rock Agreement for Professional Consulting Services related to the Design of the Lawn on Brushy Creek Downtown Park with Design Workshop, Inc."

Body

This item will authorize Design Workshop to begin the construction documentation and construction administration phase of the Downtown Park.   Design Workshop has previously developed the schematic design of the space and worked through multiple open houses with the public.  This project inlcudes a bridge connection from Heritage Trail West to Veterans Park, a canoe launch, and development of the 6+ acres along Pecan St./Georgetown St.  This portion of the overall cost of the agreement is $1,398,000.00.  That cost further breaks down to $1,200,000.00 for the design of the park (10% of the construction budget) and $168,000.00 for possible permitting requirements.  It is unknown at this time if the project will trigger a CLOMR/LOMR with FEMA.  This extra $168,000.00 will be billed at an hourly basis in case a CLOMR/LOMR is required.  If those permits are not required, the contract will not be billed for those services.

In addition to the Downtown Park Project, this Agreement includes the schematic, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phases of the Town Green Project.  This project includes improvements at the Water Tower Park and Johnson Building.  By choosing Design Workshop to design this project, it will ensure cohesiveness between the Downtown Park and the Town Green Project.  They will continue to take inspiration from the Paseo (some members of the design team also serve on that design team) and the downtown parklets.  The cost associated with this scope of work is $412,000 (10% of the construction budget).
