Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Austin Constructors, LLC for the 2013 Sidewalk Gaps Project.

In May, 2013, as part of the plan to keep the community safe and increase mobility, the City awarded the 2013 Sidewalk Gaps Project to Austin Constructors in the amount of $267,000.00. Sidewalk gaps completed under this program included Old Settlers Boulevard, Sunrise Road, and US HWY 79 in front of HEB. This project was funded in part by $300,000 provided by Amendment #29 of the Transportation Capital Improvement Program, as well as $115,163.35 from developer participation.
During the course of construction, Transportation Department staff identified additional sidewalk gaps that could benefit from available funds. These included two additional areas on Sunrise Road, an area on Joe Dimaggio Boulevard just west of Kenney Fort Boulevard, and a small segment of sidewalk on Bowman Road between Onion Creek Village Drive and North Mays Street. The cost for these additional portions of sidewalk was $82,931.50, bringing the total cost to the project to $349,931.50.
