Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Cash Construction Company, Inc. for the Chisholm Trail South Improvements (Old Town) Project.

The Chisholm Trail South Improvements project includes upgrades to Chisholm Trail Road between Sam Bass Road and RM 620. The scope of work includes pavement reconstruction, sidewalk improvements, and upgrades to utility and drainage infrastructure. Construction began in July 2025 and is anticipated to be completed in the Fall 2026.
During construction, unforeseen utility conflicts were discovered that required modifications to the original design, including the use of alternative inlet configurations to accommodate existing underground infrastructure and avoid utility impacts. In addition, supplemental work is being performed at the southeast corner of Sunset Drive and Chisholm Trail to provide a connection between the project and the recently completed Heritage Park project. This work includes construction of ADA-compliant curb ramps, sidewalk improvements, and installation of pedestrian railing along the sidewalk leading to the new structure, ensuring a safe and accessible connection for the public.
Finally, Quantity Adjustment/Change Order (QA/CO) No. 1 provides for the installation of nine additional antique-style illumination poles along the west side of the roadway. The poles will be evenly spaced between Sam Bass Road and Sunset Drive and includes all associated conduit, wiring, and installation. These enhancements will improve pedestrian lighting while reinforcing the project's historic character.
QA/CO No. 1 increases the contract amount by $306,471.32, bringing the total contract value to $4,567,569.32.
