The City will be taking over all of the Operation and Maintenance of the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater System (BCRWWS) from the Brazos River Authority starting October 1, 2018. As part of the transition, the CIty will be contracting with an outside company for transporting the sludge generated at the wastewater treatment plant.
On August 23, 2018, formal bids were solicited for the transportation of wastewater treatment facility sludge. Three bids were received. Staff recommends Sheridan Environmental who was the low bidder for the project. Approximately 40,000 tons of wastewater treatment facility sludge generated by BCRWWS will be transported in the 2019 fiscal year. The estimated cost for transport is approximately $499,200 per year with a five year contract total of $2,496,000.
