Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Participating Agreement with National Purchasing Partners for cooperative purchasing benefits.
Body
State law allows cities to enter into Interlocal Agreements between government bodies to satisfy bidding requirements when purchasing goods and services. The purpose of this agreement is to provide the City another option to facilitate compliance with State bidding requirements and realize administrative efficiencies and cost savings.
This agreement is very similar to other co-op's that the City purchasing department uses for purchasing commodities and services as well as a source to use when comparing vendor's costs. This particular agreement will provide access to vendors providing everything from fire rescue materials and services to law enforcement materials and services as well as a wide variety of other vendors providing commodities and services that could be used by the City as the need arises.
