Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Freightliner of Austin for the purchase of two (2) 2016 Freightliner Vehicles.

This purchase order will be for 2 vehicles;
1. 2016 Freightliner dump truck; Last year the drainage department had an accident that resulted in the a total loss. The dump truck was a 1997 Ford Louisville with 102,161 miles. This truck is a replacement unit and the city was able to recover $22,070.00 insurance payment for the vehicle.
2. 2016 Freightliner concrete truck with a 10.5 yd mixer; This vehicle is a new capital purchase for the Transportation Department. As the private construction market has continued its rapid expansion, our ability to have small concrete orders delivered when needed, has become significantly impacted. With the approval of this vehicle the Transportation Department will start hauling their own concrete, which will result in an opportunity for our staff to be more efficient and effective when placing concrete.
Cost: $247,848.00
