Consider proclaiming April 11, 2015 as "Round Rock Lions Fitness Day" in the City of Round Rock.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Round Rock Lions motto "We Serve" is shown by their commitment to improve life for youth in Round Rock, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Lions assist Special Olympics activities in Round Rock; and
WHEREAS, the Round Rock Lions partner with all Lions of Texas to provide funding for a residential camp accredited by American Camping Association, and licensed by Texas Department of Health; and
WHEREAS, the Lions reach out to families to provide a 'free to the family' one week residential camp in Kerrville for children ages 7 - 16 who have physical or medical challenges; and
WHEREAS, the Lions give of their time and resources to assist students in RRISD elementary, middle and high schools; and
WHEREAS, the Lions financially assisted the construction of Round Rock's Play for All Abilities Park; and
WHEREAS, the Lions have been 'Knights of the Blind' since 1925 when Helen Keller attended our annual National Convention and challenged us to assist persons with visual challenges; and
NOW THEREFORE, I, ALAN MCGRAW, Mayor of the City of Round Rock, Texas, do hereby proclaim April 11, 2015 as
 
"Family 'Fitness Challenge' Day"
In the City of Round Rock and do hereby commend the Round Rock Noon Lions Club for their dedication to the welfare of youth and their families.
