Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Lewis Contractors, Inc. for the McNutt Creek Wastewater Segment C9 Project.

The McNutt Creek Wastewater Segment C9 is required to provide wastewater service to future McNutt Creek basin area development and Avery North properties north of University Boulevard. McNutt Creek Segment C9 commences at the end of McNutt Creek Segment C3 near County Road 112 and extends northward approximately 7,100 linear feet to University Boulevard.
On March 11, 2014, nine bids were submitted for this wastewater project. The lowest bid of $2, 092,349.50 was submitted by Lewis Contractors, Inc. This amount was below the engineer's estimate of $2,550,000.
Quantity Adjustment/Change Order (QA/CO) No. 1 is necessary to adjust additional encasement pipe quantity and add additional work days to contract due to unforeseen gas line crossing issues. This QA/CO in the amount of $99,225 increases the total contract price to $2,191,574.50.
Utility staff recommends approval of this adjustment to Lewis Contractors, Inc.
