Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with K Friese & Associates, Inc. for the Kenney Fort Boulevard Extension Project.

Body
Kenney Fort Boulevard is a major arterial roadway shown on the Transportation Master Plan to eventually connect from Georgetown across Round Rock to Pflugerville.  The first segment of Kenney Fort Boulevard between Joe DiMaggio and Forest Creek was completed during the summer of 2013.  Future planning for the southern and northern sections of Kenney Fort Boulevard is ongoing.  Staff has been mindful of the future right-of-way needs for this roadway as development progresses and the City plans for future growth.  Recently, the City acquired a parcel of right-of-way immediately north of the current intersection of Kenney Fort Boulevard and Chandler Creek Drive when the property became available.

A previous contract with K Friese & Associates prepared a preliminary roadway schematic and identified the additional required right-of-way, corridor location and configuration of Kenney Fort Boulevard from US79 to Old Settlers Boulevard.  This contract with K Friese & Associates provides Plans, Specifications, Estimates (PS&E) , and Construction Phase Services for Construction of Kenney Fort Boulevard from Old Settlers Boulevard to Chandler Creek Blvd.  The proposed alignment will respect many of the larger trees and cross the flood plain areas in the most reasonable manner.
