Title
Consider an ordinance amending Chapter 24, Code of Ordinances (2010 Edition), by adding Article IV to prohibit urinating and defecating in public. (Second Reading)
Body
There is no state law regarding the act of urinating or defecating in public. To address the health and nuisance issues created by such acts, cities must adopt an ordinance to make the act a misdemeanor. This proposed ordinance will establish a new ordinance banning urination or defecation on public property or in public view in the City. Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston all have ordinances addressing these acts, as do the more local cities of Austin, Georgetown, Killeen, and San Marcos.
