Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement with Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc. for the collection and disposal of household hazardous waste.
Body
The City currently owns a Recycling Facility located on Deepwood Drive in Round Rock. At this facility, the City provides Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Program for residents of the City. This program allows for monthly scheduled collection events on the first Wednesday of each month and on a Saturday in April and October of each year. Each resident is allowed to bring a Residential Quantity which means no more than the equivalent of 25 gallons and/or 50 pounds of HHW and no container over five gallons in size.
The City has formed an agreement with Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc. to collect and dispose of certain HHW materials. Some of these materials include: flammable liquids and solids, corrosive liquids, toxic solid and liquid material, aerosols, paint, oxidizers, ballasts, fluorescent lamps, batteries, etc. The term of this Agreement shall be for three years from the effective date. After that term, this Agreement may be renewed for no more than two additional twelve months each, with such renewals to occur on or before the expiration date of the proceeding term.
Cost: Not to exceed $28,200 per year
