Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Patin Construction, LLC for the Dove Creek Drainage Improvements Project.

The Dove Creek Drainage Improvements project included the construction of a storm drainage system with inlets to reduce the depth and frequency of flooding in the neighborhood. This change order addresses two different items.
The first item is located downstream of the Dove Creek project. Drainage from this project is directed northerly toward Lake Creek. Prior to reaching Lake Creek, significant erosion has occurred as the storm water crosses an existing wastewater interceptor. This erosion has reached a point where the wastewater line has lost significant cover and has the potential to incur damage to the line. Improvements at the location where the drainage crosses the wastewater line will be made to protect the line from future damage.
The second item was discovered during the construction of the drainage improvements in Dove Creek. It was discovered that the existing asphalt in the streets was considerably thicker than we anticipated. Milling was the best solution to limit the asphalt quantity overrun to a minimum and thus reduce the overall paving costs.
This Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 will increase the original contract by $62,360 for a new total contract amount of $356,085.
