Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue Purchase Orders to The Playwell Group, Inc. for the purchase of equipment for Stella Park and Round Rock West Park.

This item will authorize the City to issue purchase orders to The Playwell Group for equipment for the Stella Park Improvement Project and Round Rock West Park Improvements. The purchase order will include the pavilion for the Stella Park Improvement Project and the playground equipment and pavilion for Round Rock West Park Improvements.
The Stella Park Improvement Project is being funded through the General Self-Financed Construction fund. The project includes the demolition of existing park amenities including basketball court, site prep, new construction of concrete flatwork, park amenity installation, and masonry.
The Round Rock West Park Improvements project is being funded through the 2014 General Obligation Bond. The project includes the demolition and relocation of existing park amenities, site prep, new construction of concrete flatwork, park amenity installation, and masonry.
Staff met with the neighborhoods numerous times over the past year to gather input on the park improvement plans and have been met with overwhelming support. The final plans presented to the neighborhoods received positive feedback and the neighborhoods were excited to see the redevelopment efforts by the city. It aligns with the Game On: Parks and Recreation Master Plan and the City Strategic Goals under Places and Spaces:
-Prevent neighborhood deterioration
-Improve City aesthetics, development and redevelopment quality, and sustainability
-Identify and plan for future connectivity and mobility needs and options
