Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with TMG Contracting, LLC for the purchase and installation of bullet resistant materials at Municipal Court.

Body

This agreement will provide material and labor for two bullet resistant projects within the City of Round Rock Municipal Court offices.  General Services department staff have been coordinating an effort to upgrade building safety for both Municipal Court and Police.  TMG Contracting, LLC. was procured through the BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Alliance and will do both projects.  The Police reception area project was already approved with the Exhibit A items approved as part of the 2015/16 budget adoption.

The first Court project will provide labor and material for the demolition and removal of the existing front reception area at Municipal Court. The bid includes the removal and reconfiguration of the reception area with five new UL Threat Level 3 bullet resistant stations, which will include one handicap accessible station. Each revised station will also include new Sile Stone countertops and stainless non-ricochet deal trays. The remodel will form an “L” shape customer waiting area, which will improve customer flow and productivity for the cost of $79,546.

The second project will provide labor and materials for the installation of UL Level 3 bullet resistant panels in and around the Judge's bench and a total of five (5) 48” X 72” X 1 1/4” UL Level 3 Bronze Bullet Resistant Glass in the Judge's office for the cost of $22,108.

Completion of both projects will provide increased safety to the Judge and Municipal Court employees and paid from funds designated for Municipal Court in the prior year.

Cost: $101,654.00
