As part of the city’s ongoing plan to enhance community safety and increase neighborhood mobility, the Greenhill Subdivision on Bowman Road was identified as an area to receive safety and mobility upgrades this year. The City of Round Rock Transportation Department developed the 2015 CDBG sidewalk project program and offered this project for contractors to bid. This project will include the installation of sidewalks and curb ramps to enhance the area and offer a more pedestrian friendly atmosphere.
On February 3, 2016 this office opened bids for the 2015 CDBG Sidewalk Improvement project. A total of twelve (12) sealed bids were received, opened and read aloud. Low bidder was Mario Carlin Management LLC followed by Casto Lopez Construction and third low bidder was Smith Contracting. This office has performed our due diligence on checking the top three contractor’s references and backgrounds and have a final recommendation. Based on information obtained during this vetting process, the final recommendation is to award the project to Casto Lopez Construction the number two (2) bidder. The Casto Lopez Construction bid was $223,500.00. The overall bid’s ranged from $213,848.26 to a high of $380,026.90.
