Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Alternative Wastewater Service Billing Agreement with Michael Angelo's Gourmet Foods, Inc.

This agreement will solidify the special wastewater billing agreement the City has with Michael Angelo’s, which is a food processor located within the City. Michael Angelo's uses water during their processing of their food products within their plant which reduces the amount of water that enters the City's wastewater collection system. In this case, if the City were to base their wastewater volumetric charges on a winter average water usage as stated in the ordinance, it would not accurately reflect their wastewater volume. In an effort to more accurately gage their use of the wastewater system, this method has been negotiated and agreed upon by both parties. Their wastewater charges will be determined by assessing a monthly base charge plus the volume charge as calculated. The volume charge will be calculated by taking the volume shown by the wastewater meter at their location, and then adding 250,000 gallons for domestic water use within the plant. The total volume will be multiplied times the volume charge per thousand gallons.
