Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Pflugerville regarding the cost associated with the engineering and design of the frontage roads along SH 45 between Heatherwilde Boulevard and Donnell Drive.

Body

The city has responded to many inquires over the last few years about the “missing” frontage roads on Toll 45 between Donnell Drive and Heatherwilde. Last fall, we were contacted by colleagues at the City of Pflugerville sharing the same story and asking if we would partner with them to make a formal inquiry to the toll authority. We brought a contract to council to approve sharing the cost with Pflugerville for a required feasibility study. The results of that feasibility study offered support from TxDOT to move the potential project forward. We have recently negotiated the terms of this ILA with Pflugerville which would allow us to hire an engineering firm to further the project along. We are estimating the cost for this service to be $600,000 and will be splitting the cost 50/50 with Pflugerville. The CIty of Round Rock will continue as the lead on this project, while including Pflugerville's participation in the process.
