Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement with Industrial Asphalt and Aggregate for the purchase of aggregate material.
Body
The City previously used DINCA Trucking for purchase of Aggregate Materials. The volume of materials used annually is:
- approximately 2,000 tons per year of TCS# 265 base material delivered was $11.19/ton.
- approximately 1,000 tons per year of TCS# 111 3/8 washed gravel delivered was $10.41/ton.
Cost of material has increased over the past few years causing the previous vendors cost to increase by more than 25%. Therefore, in January of this year, the City went out to bid for a contract to purchase aggregate materials. There were three bids received. The Utility Staff recommends awarding the contract to Industrial Asphalt and Aggregate. The bid is for TCS# 265 and TCS# 111, both for pick up or delivery. The agreement is for five years from the effective date.
