Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement for Professional Consulting Services for Engineering and Design Services for the Roundville Lane Project with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.

Body

The Roundville Lane Project will involve the reconstruction of Roundville Lane from A.W. Grimes Blvd. (CR 170) to the eastbound frontage road of SH 45 for approximately 2,700 feet.  The proposed project roadway alignment will follow existing Roundville Lane, and is proposed to be designed  and constructed as a 3-lane concrete roadway.

The project will be developed as a two part work authorization. The initial contract will be to develop the project to a 30% status, which will allow for most project unknowns to have been identified; at which point, a supplemental work authorization will be negotiated for the remainder of the project Plans, Specifications, & Estimates (PS&E). Currently, the anticipated 30% PS&E completion date is set for early fall 2016, with a total project realization window of 18-24 months. Costs for the project are being shared by the city, Williamson County, and UPS, with the city acting in the lead role as the project manager.

The Transportation Department recommends that the City of Round Rock execute  a contract with Stantec Consulting Services Inc. (formerly Bury) in the amount of  $136,200.00 in exchange for providing the City of Round Rock with 30% PS&E for improving Roundville Lane from A.W. Grimes Blvd. (CR 170) to the eastbound frontage road of SH 45.
