Consider an ordinance to disannex a total of 5.929 acres located south of Louis Henna Boulevard and north of Meister Lane, east of the S. Kenney Fort Boulevard right-of-way. (First Reading)*

This Ordinance proposes to disannex 5.929 acres of land, located south of SH 45/Louis Henna Boulevard, east of the Kenney Fort Boulevard right-of-way. This ordinace is a companion to item 2016-3612, which is an agreement to release 7.561 acres from The Round Rock extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). The agreement in 2016-3612 also states that the city agrees to disannex any area inlcuded in the ETJ that is in the Round Rock City Limits. 2016-3612 states that Pflugerville will accept the parcels Round Rock disannexes into their ETJ. Factors supporting the disannexation include the isolated nature of the subject parcels and the location of the parcels well outside the area currently served by Round Rock water and wastewater lines. Because of these factors, staff believes that these parcels do not serve a strategic purpose for Round Rock.

Staff recommends approval
