Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Professional Consulting Services Agreement with Cambrian Environmental for a Jollyville Plateau Salamander Survey for the Dam 101 Project.

Body

This Professional Services Contract with Cambrian Environmental will evaluate potential habitat for Jollyville Plateau Salamander (JPS) in the immediate vicinity of the proposed Dam 101. If JPS habitat is identified, a presence/absence survey will be performed as required and according to USFWS protocol requirements.

Dam 101 is a joint project between the Upper Brushy Creek WCID (UBCWCID) and the City to substantially lessen the frequency and depth of flooding along Lake Creek, particularly in the Greater Round Rock West area. The UBCWCID and City signed an Inter-Local Agreement that assigned responsibility for coordinating design, construction, and funding of Dam 101 to the City. The UBCWCID is contributing $6 million to the project and will operate and maintain the dam when complete. Per the ILA, the District made a payment of $2 million to the City before October 1, 2015.
