Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement with LinkedIn for job recruiting services.

Body

Over the past few years we have had difficulty in recruiting for jobs that require special skills, education, and training such as Traffic Engineers, Parks Development Manager, Finance Managers, Systems Administrators and Aquatics Managers using our current recruitment model which is passive in nature.  We post jobs on our website and some industry or career specific websites and hope that there are applicants out there looking for that particular job, in this particular region.  With LinkedIn, not only will we have an additional source for advertising a job, but we will be able to actively search and contact passive job seekers that are members of the LinkedIn network that have the specific skills, education, and training we are looking for that may not have otherwise considered the CORR as a potential employer.

LinkedIn is recognized by HR Professionals as the premier social networking site for potential job seekers.  It currently has over 160 million active members worldwide with over 41 million unique visitors a month.  LinkedIn is the 8th most trafficked site in the U.S.  The cost of the subscription is $10,500 for the first year with an automatic renewal at contract end.  The City has the ability to cancel the subscription 45 days before the contract renewal.
