Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with Garza EMC, LLC for the Settlers Crossing Lift Station Bypass Project.

Body

The Settlers Crossing wastewater lift station is located on the southwest corner of Red Bud Lane and County Road 122. The lift station was constructed in 2005 to serve a portion of the Settlers Crossing residential subdivision. The lift station is owned and maintained by the City of Round Rock.

The property to the west of Red Bud Lane between the existing lift station and the McNutt Creek wastewater interceptor is currently being developed into a residential subdivision. This new subdivision will provide a majority of the infrastructure needed for the existing Settlers Crossing subdivision to gravity flow to the McNutt Creek wastewater interceptor without the use of the Settlers Crossing lift station.

This project will consist of constructing approximately 350 L.F. of 8-inch wastewater line and associated manholes from the existing lift station to the west side of Red Bud Lane, an 18-inch bore under Red Bud Lane and the decommissioning of the existing lift station and force main.

Eliminating the existing lift station will save the City of Round Rock the associated operational and maintenance costs and remove the risk of a sanitary sewer overflow in the event of a lift station failure.

The City Utility Staff recommends the Mayor execute a contract with Garza EMC, LLC. to provide design, bidding and construction phase services for this project for the amount of $57,555.

Cost: $57,555.00
