Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Silsbee Ford for the purchase of (3) 2017 F-Series Trucks for the Utility Department and Transportation Department.

With this purchase order we are purchasing a 2017 F - Series truck for the Utility Department and two (2) 2017 F-Series Trucks for the Transportation Department. This vehicle was part of the 2016 replacement list, however we missed the F450 build date with a gas engine and we felt the extra 5k for the diesel was not justified. Now, Ford has changed the body style and they are once again offering a F-450 model with a V10 Gas engine. While auditing the Transportation Fleet we found that two loaner vehicles were being used as front line equipment. These vehicles need to be replaced with new vehicles and Transportation has shown the need to continue using these vehicles. Funds for the vehicles will be coming out of Transportations operational budget.
