Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an assignment to the BCRUA of the Contract for Engineering Services with Camp Dresser & McKee.

In December 2006, the Cities of Cedar Park, Leander, and Round Rock entered into an engineering contract with Camp, Dresser & McKee, Inc. for the design of the Phase 1A Water Treatment Plant. This occurred about one year prior to the creation of the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA).
In 2007, the Cities created the BCRUA, a local government corporation, pursuant to Subchapter D, Chapter 431, Texas Transportation Code for, among other purposes, to aid and act on behalf of the Cities to accomplish governmental purposes including, but not limited to having the BCRUA Water Treatment Plant-Phase 1A Project designed and constructed.
The intention was to assign the contract to the BCRUA once it was created; however, there was never a follow-up after BCRUA's formation in 2007 to have all three Cities assign their contract responsibilities to the BCRUA.
At this time, the three Cities would like to assign the contract to BCRUA. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
