Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with CP&Y, Inc. for the Old Settlers Blvd at AW Grimes Blvd West Bound Right Turn Lane Project.

Please consider approval of this contract for the Old Settlers Boulevard WB Right Turn Lane at A. W. Grimes Boulevard. Under a previous contract, the design plans and right-of-way mapping for the turn lane was completed in 2013. However, the contract expired and this is a new stand alone contract to complete the work.
This project will include the installation of a westbound right turn lane from A. W. Grimes Boulevard to Kiphen Circle. To avoid impacting the existing traffic signal pole at the northeast corner of the intersection the existing 50-foot curb radius will be reduced to a 35-foot radius. The existing 5-foot sidewalk along Old Settlers Blvd. will be reconstructed along the new turn lane curb line.
The current engineering contract will consist of revising the boundary survey to modify right-of-way limits, addressing miscellaneous design plan comments and updating the design to the latest specifications. The preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for the project will be included as well.
Cost: $16,141.52
