Consider proclaiming October 22, 2016 as "Love the Rock Day" in the City of Round Rock.
Body
WHEREAS, the mission of “Love the Rock” is to join together as the body of Christ in order to put the gospel on display by serving and loving our community just as Christ has served and loved us; and
WHEREAS, the ultimate vision of “Love the Rock” is that the men and women of the City of Round Rock will learn about God because of our volunteers’ love for one another and through their good deeds performed at no cost and with no strings attached; and
WHEREAS, on October 22nd many people from all over Round Rock will be unified and mobilized to serve others by participating in service projects ranging from weed removal and lawn mowing to construction and neighborhood cleanup; and
WHEREAS, the “Love the Rock” event is sponsored by and will be accomplished by volunteers from more than 40 churches in and around Round Rock that have signed up to be a part of this day; and
WHEREAS, the “Love the Rock” event will have 2 different volunteer times - 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, with more than 18 different neighborhoods and service activities for volunteers to choose from; and
WHEREAS, with the help of these churches and volunteers, “Love the Rock” hopes to make an impact on the citizens of Round Rock on Saturday, October 22nd;
NOW, THEREFORE, I ALAN MCGRAW, Mayor of the City of Round Rock do hereby proclaim October 22nd, 2016 as
“LOVE THE ROCK DAY”
In the City of Round Rock and encourage all citizens to volunteer and become a part of this great community event and to show their love of “The Rock.”
