Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with Cash Construction for the Southwest Downtown District Infrastructure Improvements - Phase 5B Project.
Body
The Southwest Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Project - Phase 5B (SWDT-5B), which is a continuation of the on-going downtown enhancements, was formally accepted by the City in February 2005 as part of the Southwest Downtown Master Plan.
The SWDT-5B Project will improve and develop Bagdad Avenue, McNeil Road, Florence Street, and Blair Street (See attached Site Plan) to provide residents with better access to adjoining businesses and downtown Round Rock. This project includes improvements to water, wastewater, stormwater, dry utility infrastructure, roadway, landscape and pedestrian facilities.
The City of Round Rock Transportation Department advertised the SWDT-5B Project from 09/03/2016 to 09/24/2016, and held a bid opening on September 28th, 2016. Three(3) sealed bids were received and read aloud. Bids ranged between $4,315,214.00 and $4,597,746.25, with an apparent low bid submitted by Cash Construction at $4,315,214.00.
After careful review, the Transportation Department staff recommends approval of award to Cash Construction for the Southwest Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Project - Phase 5B.
