On August 18, 2016, the City solicited bids for the purchase of eleven water treatment chemicals. Chemtrade Chemicals, Inc. was the lowest bidder for Aluminum Chlorohydrate and Liquid Ammonium Sulfate.
Aluminum Chlorohydrate is used as a primary coagulant at the surface water treatment plant during times when the raw water is of poor quality. This contract is based on 69 dry tons of usage per year for an annual cost of $52,716. This contract is for five years and a total amount of $263,580.
Liquid Ammonium Sulfate is used in the disinfection process. This contract is based on 46,400 gallons of usage pear year for an annual cost of $40,832. This contract is for five years and a total cost of $204,160.
Chemtrade Chemicals has been an approved vendor in the City since 2011. This total contract amount for both chemicals is for $467,740.
