Consider a proclamation honoring Bishop-Elect Calvin M. Hooper.
Body
WHEREAS, our City’s faith is a critical foundation of our ability to function as a community and respond to both adversity and prosperity; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Calvin M. Hooper was accepted the call to ministry in 1991 and has served in various capacities in the ministry since that time; and
WHEREAS, he is a gifted servant leader with a strong desire to teach God’s people how to apply the Word of God to their everyday lives; and
WHEREAS, in addition to serving as a pastor more than ten years, Calvin also serves as a chaplain with the Round Rock Police Department and is an accomplished author, having written three books; and
WHEREAS, Calvin and his wife Valerie reside in Round Rock and founded the Household of Faith Christian Fellowship Church in their home in 2003 along with their five children; and
WHEREAS, the Household of Faith is a member of the Integrity Ministerial Fellowship; an association of more than 1,300 evangelical Christian churches in the United States and 36 foreign countries; and
WHEREAS, The Integrity Ministerial Fellowship has honored Pastor Hooper by electing him to the Office of Bishop on November 20, 2016;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Alan McGraw, Mayor of the City of Round Rock, do hereby honor Bishop-Elect Calvin M. Hooper for this election as Bishop of his Fellowship; and furthermore, honor him for his years of faith leadership in our community, and thank him for his tireless efforts to not only his congregation, but the larger faith community, as well as all citizens of the City of Round Rock.
