Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with Freese and Nichols for the West Wastewater Treatment Plant Force Main Project.

Body

Currently, an existing 6-inch wastewater force-main discharges into an 18-inch gravity wastewater line that is deteriorating.  A new wastewater line is needed to replace the existing deteriorating line.  The City’s Utility Staff recommends entering into a contract with Freese & Nichols in the amount of $40,629 for the design of a new 6-inch force-main that will extend northward from the Wastewater Treatment plants lift station across Brushy Creek to a manhole to be constructed on an existing 27-inch line that feeds into the Regional Wastewater Interceptor.  The new force main is expected to be approximately 600 feet long.

Cost: $40,629.00
