Consider an ordinance amending Chapter 44, Section 44-6, Code of Ordinances (2010 Edition), prohibiting water waste. (Second Reading)
Body
The Utilities & Environmental Services Department is recommending an amendment to Code of Ordinances, Chapter 44, Section 44-6 prohibiting water waste as stated below.
• It shall be unlawful for a person to fail to repair a controllable leak, including a broken sprinkler head, a leaking valve, leaking or broken pipes, a leaking faucet, or leaking toilet.
• It shall be unlawful for a person to operate an irrigation system that allows water to run off a property, such that there is a trail of water that is running in the street for a distance of 50 feet or greater, allowing water to pond in the street or parking lot to a depth greater than one-fourth of an inch, or head(s) that are misting due to high water pressure.
