Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Contract No. 1 with HDR Engineering, Inc. for the Transportation Master Plan Update Project.

 

Body

The Original Contract with HDR, Inc. in the amount of $500,000.00 consisted of developing an effective and successful City of Round Rock Transportation Master Plan (TMP) Update. The scope of work consists of eight task areas:

1. Project Management;

2. Coordination and Public Participation;

3. Comprehensive Review and Evaluation of Existing City Documents and Policies with Recommendations;

4. Data Collection and Projections;

5. Travel Demand Model and Corridor Analysis;

6. Development and Evaluation of Multimodal Transportation System Alternatives;

7. Capital Improvements Plan; and

8. Transportation Master Plan Document

This scope of work is directed at addressing current and future transportation issues and utilizes all of the previous work that has been completed for the 2012 Round Rock Transportation Master Plan.

 

 

This Supplemental Contract consists of removing certain sections of the original scope tasks that are being paid for under separate contract HDR, Inc. has with Williamson County. The scope of work for this contract in Attachment C is reduced as noted below:

1. The Corridor Analysis Task 5.2 is removed;

2. Development and Evaluation of Multimodal Transportation System Alternatives is reduced by removing Task 6.1.1, Task 6.1.2, Task 6.1.5, Task 6.1.6, Task 6.1.7, Task 6.1.8 and Task 6.2.

The removal of these Tasks results in a net savings to the city of $120,000.00 for a revised contract amount of $380,000.00.

 

The Transportation Department recommends that the City of Round Rock execute a supplemental contract with the engineering firm HDR, Inc. in the amount of  (-$120,000.00) in exchange for the removal of the task items listed above. This contract reduction results in a revised total contract amount payable of $380,000.00.
