This item will authorize the Mayor to execute a contract with Swift Corporation for the Play for All Abilities Expansion Fence Project. Items included in this bid include: the installation of new vinyl-coated chain link fence and gates, the conversion of an existing fence to a new height, and the reuse of existing fencing material.
The Play for All Playground has become one of the most popular playgrounds in Round Rock with approximately 1000 visitors a day. Due to its popularity and extreme use, it has become necessary to expand the park boundaries and offer additional play experiences. The Play for All Expansion Project includes additional parking, lighting, realigning the entry drive, the addition of three (3) new play pods, and expanding the five (5) existing play pods. A new perimeter fence will be necessary to make these additions to the park safe.
The Play for All Expansion Project is a joint collaboration between the City and the Play for All Foundation. The Foundation has raised over $500,000 to help fund the project.
