Consider public testimony regarding the FY 2017-2018 Annual Budget for the City of Round Rock.

This public hearing fulfills the requirements of the Texas Local Government Code, Section 102.006 providing for public comment on the proposed FY 2017-2018 Annual Budget.

The City Manager’s proposed budget as presented at the July 13, 2017 Budget Workshop with subsequent amendments totals $329,996,296. The totals by fund are presented below:

The City Council gave direction for FY 2017-2018 proposed Annual Budget at their annual strategic planning retreat in January and February 2017.

The resulting proposed Annual Budget was reviewed by the City Council at a Budget Workshop on July 13, 2017. The items presented in this proposed budget address Council’s Strategic Goals for FY 2017-2018 and are summarized on Attachment 1, FY2018 Proposed Budget - Highlights.

The Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corporation held a public hearing and approved the Type B Fund budget at their July 27, 2017 board meeting.  This city-wide budget also includes the Type B Fund.

The complete proposed FY 2017/2018 Annual Budget workbook can be found on the City of Round Rock’s website. A hard copy is available for review in the Round Rock Public Library.

The first reading of the ordinance regarding the FY 2017-2018 Annual Budget is being held tonight. The second reading of the ordinance will be on September 14, 2017.
