Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to L3 Mobile-vision, Inc. for upgrades to the Police Department's vehicle cameras.

The Police Department currently has a digital video recorder in every patrol vehicle. Due to the advanced technology a new recorder is purchased with a new vehicle. We currently have 61 older units on the road, 28 of which are not scheduled for new replacement. The units we are replacing are over five years old and already have been updated twice. Some of the older units are no longer repairable and will no longer take any of the newer updates. The new units will include Flashback HD upgrade kit, DVR, Optical zoom Cam, as well as peripheral equipment. These new units can be transferred into newer vehicles if the need arises.
