Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Contract No. 1 with HDR Engineering, Inc. for the US 79 at Telander Drive Operational Improvements Project.

 

Body

On May 26, 2016, City Council approved a contract with HDR for the US 79 at Telander Drive Operational Improvements Project in the amount of $465,972.95.  This contract is to provide engineering services encompassing survey services, utility coordination services, roadway design, drainage design, traffic design, and preparation of a plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E) package for the construction of one at-grade crossing of the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) at the existing entrance to the Dell Diamond/Old Settlers Park.

 

Supplemental agreement #1 with HDR Engineering is for work performed by the engineer and will consist of providing additional engineering services for survey, roadway, drainage, traffic modeling, traffic design, and preparation of two Plan, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages for the construction upgrade of an at-grade crossing of the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) at the Brushy Creek Plant entrance, including related intersection improvements on US 79.  The overall project limits for both sets of PS&E plans are approximately from Kenney Fort Blvd Underpass to the west and to Brushy Creek Plant entrance to the east, and 450 feet south of US 79 along Harrell Parkway and 1200 feet south of US 79 along the Brushy Creek Plant road including two plant entrances.  The project will be developed as two separate PS&E plan sets, one to encompass the work within the TxDOT ROW and a second to include the remaining project area. This will increase the the contract by $423,610.38 to a total of $889,583.33
