Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Cash Construction for the Southwest Downtown District Infrastructure Improvements Phase 5B Project.

 

Body

On January 12, 2017 City Council approved a contract with Cash Construction Company for The Southwest Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Project - Phase 5B (SWDT-5B), which is a continuation of the on-going downtown construction enhancements, and was formally accepted by the City in February 2005 as part of the Southwest Downtown Master Plan.

 

The SWDT-5B Project will improve and develop segments of Bagdad Avenue, McNeil Road, Florence Street, and Blair Street to provide residents with better access to adjoining businesses and downtown Round Rock. This project includes improvements to water, wastewater, stormwater, dry utility infrastructure, roadway, landscape and pedestrian facilities.

 

Change Order/Quantity Adjustment #1 consists of waterline service size upgrades 4-inch to 6-inch, additional electric cable, one additional storm drain, piping and grate.  Waterline relocation due to conflicts not shown in plans.  Deducts include 4-inch and 6-inch waterline piping, Jack and bore for steel encasement pipe and 10,  4-inch gate valves.

 

Total for the Change Order Portion is $43,825.00.  The total for the Quantity Adjustment is $51,016.00. 

 

The transportation staff recommends approval of QA/CO #1 for the total price of $94,841.00 amending the contract amount to $4,410,055.00
