The City Council directed staff to prepare a service plan for the annexation of the area northeast of the intersection of North A.W. Grimes Boulevard and County Road 186 at their meeting on June 22, 2017. The service plan was prepared and the required notifications were made. The first public hearing on the annexation was held on August 10, 2017 and the second public hearing was held on August 24, 2017.
City services will be provided according to the terms of the service plan, which is contained in the ordinance. Police, fire and emergency services will be provided immediately upon annexation. Water and wastewater services will be provided within two and one-half years, if not sooner.
