Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Real Estate Contract with Steven & Linda Redden for the purchase of right of way necessary for the RM 620 Widening Project (Parcel 16).

 

Body

The original appraised value for this acquisition was $42,518.  The owners have an existing 8' wood privacy fence, the reviewers believed that an additional cost for construction of a masonry wall could be reasonably justified, and could likely be recovered in a contested hearing, as a safety (as opposed to solely noise reducing) consideration given the remainder's close proximity to the roadway and the residential use of the property.  TxDOT approved an administrative settlement for the current contract amount of $71,579, and will reimburse the City for 90% of the approved value.
