Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with CP&Y, Inc. for the Wastewater Siphon Rehabilitation Project.

Body

The City operates three inverted wastewater siphons within our wastewater collection system. Two of the siphons are located on the 48" Chandler Creek wastewater line and the other siphon provides service to the Forest Bluff Subdivision.

In October 2000, the Chandler Creek 48” wastewater line was constructed by LCRA and included two inverted siphons that cross the Chandler Creek at two locations.  One siphon is located near the Chandler Creek MUD and the other is located east of Kenney Fort Crossing.  The Forest Bluff inverted siphons consist of 6” and 8” lines and was constructed in February 1997 and crosses Brushy Creek.  Recent inspections of the siphons show needed rehabilitation to all three siphons.  The Chandler Creek siphons are in need of replacing the slide gates and manhole covers, cleaning of the siphons, and interior coating rehabilitation.  The Forest Bluff siphon will require rehabilitation to the two wastewater lines crossing Brushy Creek.

Staff recommends awarding an engineering contract for this project to CP&Y for $93,642.50.

Cost: $93,642.50
