Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with MA Smith Contracting Co. for the Roundville Lane Improvements Project.

The Roundville Lane Project will involve the reconstruction of Roundville Lane from A.W. Grimes Blvd. (CR 170) to the eastbound frontage road of SH45 for approximately 2,700 feet; the proposed project roadway alignment will follow existing Roundville Lane and terminate at the SH 45 frontage road. Additionally, the project will consist of a new traffic signal at AW Grimes & Roundville lane, as well as two deceleration lanes, and a Bonded Concrete Overlay along AW Grimes from Roundville Lane up to SH45. There will be one eastbound deceleration lane along SH45 at Roundville Lane, and another northbound deceleration lane along AW Grimes at Roundville. Further, this project will be designed as a 3-lane concrete roadway.
MA Smith Contracting was the apparent low bidder for the Roundville Lane Project with a bid in the amount of $2,699,825.69. The Transportation Department recommends awarding the contract to MA Smith Contracting in exchange for providing construction services for the Roundville Lane Project.
