Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with Ryan Sanders Sports Services for the OSP Baseball Complex Infield Renovation Project
Body
This project entails renovating twelve (12) baseball infields at Old Settlers Park. This process included eliminating large soil/ dirt mounds along the grass edges that accumulate over time from wind, play, and ordinary maintenance practices. The contractor will laser grade the fields, amend infield dirt for better drainage, reinforce the batters boxes and pitching mounds, and install new sod along the fields' edges. These renovations are necessary to continue to market the fields at tournament quality to support the Sports Capital of Texas initiative. Ryan Sanders Sports Services (RS3) is an extremely qualified contractor to perform this specialized construction work as they currently maintain the Dell Diamond and several professional sports fields throughout the area.
The project was funded by Hotel Occupancy Funds in the amount of $250,000. However, PARD felt it was in the best interest of the City to accept all four base bids associated with this project to offer the highest quality of fields and greatest flexibility for tournament events. As a result, additional funds were supplied by PARD.
Cost: $291,402.07
