Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with Lone Star Paving for the 2017 Street Maintenance Program - Project 4 -Residential Type F Overlay Project.

 

Body

The City of Round Rock manages more than 1,150 lane miles of roadways within its jurisdiction. In order to preserve, and / or improve , the conditions of existing roadways, the City has developed a Street Maintenance Program (SMP). This program allows the City to monitor the state of it's roadways and systematically repair, and / or overlay our city streets.

 

This 2017 Street Maintenance Program Residential Type F Overlay Project 4 will provide a long lasting and durable driving surface for the specific streets within Eagle Ridge/Eagles Nest area,Settlement/Sunrise Vista area, Sunrise Park/ Meas Park area and Egger Acres.

This Project includes various curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveway, curb ramp and pavement repairs; pavement milling; and approximately 355,000 SY one-inch (1") Type F HMAC overlay.

 

On June 12, 2018 at 2:30pm, bids were submitted and opened for the above referenced project. Four (4) responsive bid proposals were

submitted:

                     Alpha Paving                                           $6,724,000.00

                     Austin Materials                                           $5,668,800.00

                     Lone Star Paving                                           $5,064,040.00

                     Old Castle Materials                      $5,752,300.00

 

The engineer's opinion of probable construction cost was estimated at $6,218,000. Based upon the careful review of the Bid Tabulation, the Transportation Department recommends the City of Round Rock approval of award to Lone Star Materials in the amount of $5,064,040.00

 

Cost: $5,064,040.00
