Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with Luck Design Team for the Westside Trail Improvements Project 2018 and Meadow Lake Park Improvement Project 2018.

Body
This item authorizes the City and Luck Design Team to enter into an agreement for landscape architectural services for the Westside Trail Improvement Project 2018 and Meadow Lake Park Improvement Project 2018.

The Westside Trail Improvement Project includes replacing the Round Rock West Greenbelt and portions of the Behrens Ranch Greenbelt. The Round Rock West Greenbelt is an asphalt trail that is showing signs of age and deterioration. This project includes replacing the trail with concrete to better withstand the aging process. This portion of the project is funded by 2014 GO Bond funds. The Behrens Ranch Greenbelt is a decomposed granite trail that frequently experiences washouts during rain events. These portions of the trail will be replaced with concrete to lower continuing maintenance costs. This project is funded by Parkland Development funds. Both projects are located over the Edwards Aquifer, so this contract includes all permitting phases of the process. They have been lumped together into one project due to their proximity and the ability to decrease permitting and construction costs.

The Meadow Lake Park Improvement Project includes design and construction of a fishing pier, as well as 60% design development for the extension of the Meadow Lake Trail from the private development between park properties. This section of trail will connect to the developer built trail and will ultimately connect the northern and southern portions of Meadow Lake Park. Additionally, this design will include a feasibility study to determine the best location and type of crossing for the trail at the drainage ditch feeding the lake.

The landscape architectural costs associated with this project make up 8% of the total project budgets.
