Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract for Engineering Services with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, Inc. for the Arterial H 16-inch Waterline Extension 2018 Project.

Body

A 16-inch waterline was constructed in 2017 that connected the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) Segment 3 48-inch waterline to the Mayfield Ranch subdivision to provide water for the newly constructed Gardens at Mayfield Ranch. This was the first phase of a transmission main that is required to serve the City of Round Rock’s 1071 pressure plane with high pressure water from the BCRUA 48-inch transmission main.

This project, Arterial H 16-inch Waterline Extension 2018, will consist of constructing approximately 3,200 linear feet (L.F.) of new 16-inch and 1,700 L.F. of new 12-inch waterline. This project is the final phase of the transmission main and will connect to the 1071 pressure plane. The project will also include a connection with the City of Georgetown at the east end of the waterline to serve as an emergency interconnect for the 1071 pressure plane.

The Utility Staff recommends that the City Council approve a contract with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, Inc. for $180,333 to provide the design, bidding, and construction phase services associated with this project.

Cost: $180,333
