Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Professional Consulting Services Agreement with CP&Y, Inc. for on-call surveying services.

Body

The City's current two year contract with Wallace Group, Inc. for surveying services that are associated with future Capital Improvement Projects and/or random surveying for Operation and Maintenance projects ended on April 30, 2018. The Wallace Group, Inc. has recently merged with another consulting firm, CP&Y, Inc. The City would like to prepare a new surveying services contract with CP&Y, Inc. for two additional years for a not-to-exceed amount of $50,000.

This contract is to perform miscellaneous surveying tasks on an "as needed" basis for immediate tasks deemed necessary by the City staff. These services may include, but are not limited to: easement preparation, small area topographic surveys, spot elevations, right-of-way determination and delineations, GPS Monument replacement or stablishment of new monuments, location of utility markings and potholes, tree surveys, quality control of submitted platting or monuments, as-built surveys of utilities or other infrastructures. These tasks will be issued and accounted for via a "Work Order" system.  For individual requests for surveying services, the City will receive a proposal from CP&Y, Inc. and once the scope of work and fees are agreed upon, the City will issue a work order.
